What are Schemas?
Have you noticed how your child can become fixated at times on one particular toy or movement, repeating it over and over again? This could be over a long period of time too.
Schemas are a way of explaining this behaviour which follows patterns and young children discovering the world around them. It is part of their learning! By noticing these in your childs play, you can support them in finding out more about the world and extending their knowledge through new experiences following a similar pattern.

It is important to note that not all children go through all schemas and sometimes you see more than one present. Every child is unique and so is their development.
