FAQs

What classes do you offer?

We currently run under two age categories: birth to early walking and confident walkers to 4 years old.

Is my baby too young to join?

Our classes are appropriate from birth to the age of 4 years. You can attend with your baby whenever you feel you are both ready to take part in a group. Your baby is likely to be very sleepy for the first few weeks, only waking up in short bursts. Our classes are fun, friendly and relaxed for both you and baby to enjoy sensory activities and make some new friends.

My child is walking but unsteady. Which class is best to join?

If your child is just starting to walk, I would advise the younger class. Whilst the older class is more active and better suited to walkers, you may want your child to be more confident on their feet as this group can have children up o the age of 4 years. If you are unsure, contact the class leader to help with your decision.

Do you offer a taster session?

Due to current restrictions and needing to remain in a 'class bubble' we are not offering taster sessions. However, we do on occasions offer free taster sessions so keep an eye on the website and social media.

Can I join a class part way through a term?

If there is a space available then yes. Please contact us to find out what availability we have in classes.

How many children are in a class?

To adhere to current restrictions, our classes are no bigger than 10 families in a group (10 adults and 10 children)

How long does the class last for?

Each class lasts 45 minutes. Our class is split into half the story and activities, a 5 minute short break and then the second half of the story and activities.

Can my partner/friend/mum come with me?

Due to current restrictions and social distancing, only 1 adults is able to attend with your little one. To retain our class bubbles, this needs to be the same adult across the term of classes.

Where can I park?

Both our Paignton and Kingsbridge venues have dedicate car parks. If the car park is full there is parking out on the road (some is paid for parking so do check carefully). Our Totnes location doesn't have a car park but it is in a small village and therefore all surrounding roads are free to park on.

How much is a class?

Here at Story Sense, we take bookings in half termly blocks. A half term is generally 6 weeks which costs £36 (occasionally there is a 5 week block as we run alongside school terms and the price is changed to reflect this). So each session works out at just £6. Sometimes we run free taster sessions so keep an eye out for these or feel free to ask.

How can I pay?

You are able to pay via PayPal or BACs transfer. We are not accepting cash or cheque payments.
